Physical products vs service or digital products in Shopify

It's possible to sell digital products or services on Shopify that don't require shipping, but if you have downloaded our app you probably have physical items that do require shipping.

It's important to make sure your physical items are flagged as 'physical products' so Addition recognizes they need shipping and displays shipping rates for them.

The key is to make sure to check the option 'This is a physical product' while making or editing a product. We've stepped it out in the video and guide below.

How to check a product is a 'physical product'

  1. Go to your Shopify Dashboard. For example: yourshopname.myshopify.com

  2. Click Products in the left menu.

  3. From the list of products, select one item.

  4. Scroll down to the 'Shipping' section, and you'll see the 'This is a physical product' check box.

  5. Make sure this box is selected on all products that are physical items so our app knows they require shipping.
